Please also see the Reel Seat Inserts page for a wide array of custom wooden inserts and wooden fighting butts. Reel Seat Installation Instructions: Your wood reel seat insert should be glued to the hardware before reaming it out to fit your rod blank. I find that 5-minute epoxy works best for me. Carefully ream the bore using a rattail file and/or a drill. I find that using a reversible drill and turning the drill bit backwards, works well to get the hole close to the desired diameter. I recommend installing the reel seat in the up-locking position. |
